Nominate your favorite teacher Submit a Community Builder applicationAs the COVID-19 crisis has transformed and challenged the education system, teachers have worked hard to quickly adopt new ways to teach, support students and innovate with distance learning. In recognition of their dedication through such unprecedented times, OnPoint Community Credit Union is proud to honor our roots and the teachers who continue to support students in and out of the classroom through the OnPoint Prize for Excellence in Education. This year, the program has added an additional Educator of the Year category for grades 6-8 and will award up to $100,000 to local teachers and schools. Here’s what the winning teachers and schools receive:
Educator of the Year – Grades K-5
One teacher representing grades K-5 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.
Educator of the Year – Grades 6-8 (new!)
One teacher representing grades 6-8 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.
Educator of the Year – Grades 9-12
One teacher representing grades 9-12 will have their mortgage or rent paid for one full year and receive a $2,500 donation to their school for resources and supplies.
Three Finalists – One each from grades K-5, 6-8 and 9-12
Finalists will each receive a $5,000 cash award plus an additional $1,500 to their schools for resources and supplies.
Community Builder
Four schools will receive $2,000 for a special project of their choice. A fifth school, selected by community votes, will receive $5,000 for a special project of their choice.
The Educator of the Year award celebrates innovative teaching methods that spark enthusiasm and passion in students, parents and their community.
