Financial Wellness & Literacy
- Programs that empower youth and adults with essential financial knowledge, equipping them to make informed financial decisions.
Small Business Support & Growth
- Initiatives that provide business coaching, education, and funding opportunities to help small businesses and entrepreneurs thrive.
Workforce Development & Career Readiness
- Programs that create pathways to employment, offering job training, career education, and skills development.
Strong communities are built on access to essential needs, quality education, and opportunities for growth. Through our Community Vitality investments, we support organizations that create stability, improve well-being, and foster sustainable opportunities for individuals, children and families to thrive.
Essential Needs: Hunger, Housing, and Community Well-being
- Housing Stability: Support houselessness prevention programs, rental assistance, and affordable housing development to keep individuals and families securely housed.
- Food Security: Expand access to nutritious meals through food banks, meal delivery programs, community meal programs, and emergency food resources.
- Comprehensive Support: Invest in integrated programs that address multiple, interconnected needs of individuals and families –by offering coordinated resources such as case management, family coaching, childcare, transportation, legal assistance, and pathways to employment.
Behavioral & Mental Health: Help advance youth programming that provides counseling, crisis intervention, peer support, and mental health education, to strengthen overall community well-being.
Youth Education & Development
- Early Learning & Development: Support programs that provide access to early childhood education, preschool readiness, and literacy initiatives that set the foundation for lifelong learning.
- STEM & Career Development: Invest in organizations that further science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, career exploration, and skill-building programs that equip youth for future careers to enhance economic mobility.
- Youth Mentorship: Fund organizations that provide safe, sustainable after-school programs, tutoring, and mentorship opportunities to nurture academic success, leadership, and positive youth development.
Eligibility
Established in 1932, OnPoint Community Credit Union has become Oregon’s largest credit union with over 613,000+ members. As we grow, so does our commitment to the communities we serve.
Using a lens of inclusion and equity to evaluate partners, OnPoint supports 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within our membership area that align with our core Impact Values recognizing the inherent and inextricable relationship between stronger people and stronger communities; with opportunity comes vitality.
We strive to be strategic with our resources so we can have the greatest impact. We are unable to fund the following types of requests:
Including funding for personal study, research, travel, or scholarships.
Including team sponsorships, tournaments, sports equipment, camps, rotaries, and booster club activities.
Including funding for animal shelters, rescues, pet adoption services, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife conservation efforts unless directly linked to environmental sustainability.
Including funding for clinics, hospitals, medical research, treatment, equipment, and substance abuse programs unless they are directly tied to youth mental health, education or workforce development.
Organizations primarily redistributing funds rather than delivering direct services.
Requests for building projects, infrastructure, long-term investment funds, or multiyear commitments.
Including support for candidates, campaigns, political action committees (PACs), or lobbying efforts.
Including graduation ceremonies, staff or volunteer appreciation events, all-night parties, field trips, auctions, galas, golf tournaments, fun runs and jogathons, and similar gatherings.
We welcome partnerships with faith-based organizations that provide services to all individuals regardless of faith but cannot support programs that require participation in religious activities, adherence to specific doctrines, or conversion as a condition of service.
We do not fund organizations that engage in or support discriminatory practices based on race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
How to apply
There are three ways you can receive support.
All three potential funding tracks fall under OnPoint’s focus areas of Economic Opportunity and Community Vitality.
Philanthropy: Community Grants & Giving
OnPoint awards grants to community-based organizations offering programming that aligns with one or both of our impact values. Funding can be requested for programmatic and general operating support during these application periods:
February 1 – March 15
August 1 – September 15.
Funding decisions are made by our Community Relations Committee within 90 days of application close date. Eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may submit one request per calendar year (January – December).
Support for Schools
OnPoint was founded in 1932 by a group of schoolteachers, and our commitment to education remains central to who we are. In addition to funding educational programs delivered by 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations through our charitable grants program, we are proud to support public education through direct contributions to:

PTAs and Parent Organizations
Alumni and School-Based Associations
Support for Schools application is open year-round. Funding decisions are made by our Community Relations Committee within 90 days after submission. Eligible schools may submit one request of $2,500 maximum per calendar year (January – December).
Events & Sponsorships
OnPoint sponsors events for nonprofit, community based organizations delivering programs that align with OnPoint’s core impact values.
Funding decisions are made by OnPoint’s Events & Sponsorship Committee. To be considered, applications must be submitted at least 90 days prior to the event start date.
Organizations may submit a single event sponsorship request per 12-month rolling period.
