How does Mobile Deposit work?

Mobile deposit is a feature that allows you to take pictures of a paper check through our mobile app and submit the photographs to deposit the check directly into your account. This feature is only available through our Mobile Banking app.

Here’s how to make a Mobile Deposit.

  1. Log into the OnPoint Mobile app from your smartphone
  2. Select Mobile Deposit from the main menu
  3. Choose the account you wish to deposit the funds into and the amount of the check
  4. To endorse the check, sign and write "For Mobile Deposit Only at OnPoint CCU" on the back of the check
  5. Click Capture Image and you will be prompted to take photos of the front and back of your check
  6. After you have confirmed your deposit: make a note on the front of the check with "Mobile Deposit to OnPoint" and the date and keep the check in a safe place for seven days in case it is needed. After one week, properly dispose of the check.

To see a list and images of all check deposits made through Mobile Deposit, select Activity Center from the main menu and select the Deposited Checks tab.

Follow these tips when using Mobile Deposit:

  • Place the check on a contrasting background. For example, if your check is white place the check on a dark surface.
  • Make sure you have good, bright lighting and there are no shadows on the check.
  • Hold your phone as steady as possible to capture a clear, crisp image of the check.
  • Do not place the camera too close or too far away when taking a picture of the check. Pictures need to include the entire front and back of the check.

Note: Email should not be used to share important or sensitive information.
