How much do I need for a down payment?

« Back to Member Assistance

Down payment requirements vary based on the loan program and borrower qualifications.

  • Conventional loans may require as little as 3% down for qualified borrowers.
  • FHA loans require as little as 3% down and may be a good option for some first-time homebuyers.
  • VA and USDA loans may offer no-down-payment financing for eligible borrowers.
  • Just for Starters® home loans can provide qualified first-time homebuyers with additional flexibility and support throughout the homebuying process.

An OnPoint Mortgage Loan Officer can help you compare available options and determine which loan program best fits your needs.
