The OnPoint 2024 Community Giving Contest: Official Contest Rules
1. No purchase is necessary. Must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify ineligible entries.
2. Promotion Period: December 3-December 13, 2024.
3. Contest Description “The OnPoint 2024 Community Giving Contest” is sponsored by OnPoint Community Credit Union, with its principal place of business located at 2701 NW Vaughn Street, Suite 800, Portland, Oregon, 97210 (“Sponsor”). Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. By entering the OnPoint 2024 Community Giving Contest, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Contest Rules (the “Official Rules”).
4. Eligibility To be eligible, the submitter must nominate an eligible non-profit organization that provides its services within any county that OnPoint serves (Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Crook, Curry, Deschutes, Douglas, Gilliam, Hood River, Jackson, Jefferson, Josephine, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Morrow, Multnomah, Polk, Sherman, Tillamook, Wasco, Washington, Wheeler and Yamhill counties in Oregon, and Clark and Skamania counties in Washington). Submitter may represent eligible organizations as an administrator, staff, or faculty member, or an officer of an affiliated group. The Sponsor will accept all valid entries during the contest period provided.
OnPoint is committed to fostering inclusive communities and therefore, supports organizations that do not discriminate with regard to staff, board, volunteers, vendors, membership, and provision of services, on the basis of age, race, national origin (ancestry), ethnicity, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, family/parental status, military status, political affiliation, religion, or income derived from a public assistance program.
OnPoint will not consider organizations that do not follow OnPoint’s standard for giving, which can be found within its giving guidelines. Entries received for organizations that do not meet these standards will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Sponsor’s evaluation.
5. How to Enter: Share your nominee for this contest as a comment on an eligible social media post on one of OnPoint’s social media channels.
6. Judging Criteria
A. Selection of Finalists Entries will be tallied by a Selection Committee comprised of representatives from OnPoint who are interested in, experienced with, and involved in giving back to our community. The facilitators will not be permitted to enter the contest if they are selected as contest judges. Entries will be scored and reviewed based on the overall number of entries received and the weighted scoring system built into the OnPoint contest app. All decisions of the Selection Committee are final and at the discretion of the Committee. They are not subject to appeal.
OnPoint makes contributions to organizations, and activities operating within the counties we serve, emphasizing:
- Education & Financial Literacy
- Community Development
- Support for Youth
- DEI
- Sustainability
OnPoint considers funding for nonprofit organizations, local government-sponsored projects, and educational institutions and foundations, with some exceptions. We are unable to support requests for the following:
- Individuals (for purposes such as individual study, research or travel grants)
- Sports teams (school, amateur and professional)
- Political activities (including candidates, campaigns, and Political Action Committees)
- Graduation, staff, volunteer, and all-night parties
- Faith-based (specifically, organizations with requirements to adhere or convert to any religious doctrine as a condition of receiving services from the program)
- Any organizations that discriminate or hold any discriminatory practices on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
Other categories may be deemed outside the parameters for consideration upon further review.
7. Prizes and Notification
From the pool of finalists, one (1) organization will be named the Grand Prize winner of $5,000 and the next closest five (5) organizations will each receive $2,500. Tax Consequences: Winners will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes incurred by their participation in the contest and acceptance of such prizes. Prizes may not be exchanged for any other consideration. Sponsor may require a completed W-9 Form from the winning organization in order to confirm non-profit status. OnPoint will notify winners by December 18, 2024. Winners will have three (3) business days from notification to accept the prize and arrange receipt with OnPoint. By accepting and/or using a prize, the winner agrees to the use of organization name and likeness for the purpose of advertisement, social media, trade, or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
8. Conditions and Limitations Apply
- This promotion is void where prohibited by law.
- The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries.
- These rules are subject to modification by the Sponsor in its sole discretion.
- A nominee is not a winner unless and until the nominee’s eligibility has been verified and the nominee has been notified that verification is complete. In the event that a winner is determined to be ineligible, their prize will be forfeited and the Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner from among remaining eligible entries.
- Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Contest without awarding prizes if no eligible winner or alternate winners accept the prizes within the required time.
9. Additional Submission Rules By participating in the Contest and submitting your eligible non-profit organization to the OnPoint 2024 Community Giving Contest, you agree to and represent the following:
- You agree not to make any claim against OnPoint, its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, and assigns as a result of your participation in this promotion, including, but not limited to, any claim that such use invades any right of privacy, publicity, or both.
- You understand that, other than the opportunity to enter this contest, you will not be paid any money or receive any form of compensation for giving OnPoint these rights.
- You represent that you are at least 18 years old and otherwise satisfy the entry and eligibility requirements described in these Official Rules.
