OnPoint Community Credit Union to Open Four Fred Meyer Branches in Burlingame, Scappoose, Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek

Four new in-store branches, one of which will relocate the current Salmon Creek Branch, to open in June 2021

PORTLAND, Ore., May 25, 2021OnPoint Community Credit Union announced today it will open four new branches in Fred Meyer’s Burlingame, Scappoose, Hazel Dell and Salmon Creek stores in June 2021. OnPoint’s four new branches include the Burlingame Branch, located at 7555 SW Barbur Blvd, Scappoose Branch, located at 51501 Columbia River Hwy., Hazel Dell Branch, located at 7700 NE Highway 99, and the Salmon Creek Branch will move from its current location at 13023 NE Hwy. 99 to the Salmon Creek Fred Meyer store located at 800 NE Tenney Road. The final day of operations at the Northeast Highway 99 location will be May 28, 2021. OnPoint’s first day of operations at the Salmon Creek Fred Meyer will be Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

With these four openings, OnPoint will operate 47 branches in communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington. OnPoint plans to open eight additional branches within Fred Meyer stores in the coming months. These new branches and relocation are part of the largest branch expansion in the credit union’s history. In celebration of these latest openings, OnPoint will donate $10,000 to local organizations serving Clark County, Southwest Portland and Columbia County.

Each OnPoint in-store branch will provide members with a complete suite of financial services, including membership enrollment, consumer and commercial lending, mortgages, financial planning, ATM and notarization. OnPoint’s new branches will also offer existing and new members special grand opening offers through the end of the year, including a $200 bonus for new members.*

JaNae Ogden will serve as branch manager of OnPoint’s new Salmon Creek Branch. Ogden has 15 years of experience in financial services, serving at OnPoint since 2009. Previously, she has served as a Member Service Specialist, Teller, Mortgage Relationship Officer and Branch Operations Supervisor at OnPoint. Ogden and her family live in Ridgefield, are avid Seahawks fans and love to enjoy the outdoors.

OnPoint will donate $2,500 to National Alliance on Mental Illness Southwest Washington (NAMI SW WA), a local affiliate of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, serving Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania and Wahkiakum county residents. NAMI SW WA advocates for access to services, treatment, and support for individuals and families struggling with mental health challenges. Through education, support and advocacy, NAMI SW WA is committed to raising awareness around mental health and building a community of hope for those in need.

Opening June 8, 2021

Amanda Dugdale will serve as the Branch Manager of OnPoint’s new Scappoose location. She has 5 years of experience in financial services, all of which have been at OnPoint. Previously, she served as a Teller, Member Service Representative, Mortgage Relationship Officer and Assistant Manager. Outside of work, you will find her hiking, reading, writing and snuggling with her two cats.

OnPoint will donate $2,500 to Columbia Pacific Food Bank, Columbia County’s regional food bank that distributes donated food and resources to the community through local food pantries and programs. Founded in 1998, the Columbia Pacific Food Bank works to fight hunger’s root causes through education, public awareness and community advocacy. With one in four Columbia County residents experiencing food insecurity, the Columbia Pacific Food Bank distributes an average of 16 tons of food each week via food pantries, community meals, senior centers and backpack, brown bag, domestic violence and children’s programs throughout the county.

Opening June 2021

Barry Soverns will serve as manager of the Burlingame Branch. Soverns has 18 years of experience in financial services. Previously, he has served as a Teller, Operations Specialist, Personal Banker and Mortgage Loan Officer. Outside of work, Soverns enjoys cooking, cheering for the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Chargers, and spending time outdoors with his family.

OnPoint will donate $2,500 to Store to Door, which supports independent living for Portland-area seniors and people with disabilities by providing affordable, personal and volunteer-based grocery shopping and delivery service. Established in 1989, Store to Door works to create a community where all seniors and people with disabilities are nourished, connected and can age with dignity in their own environment. Despite challenges faced by the COVID-19 pandemic, Store to Door quickly implemented a no-contact delivery model and made a record-breaking 14,323 deliveries to 879 Portland-area residents in 2020.

Hazel Dell Branch, 7700 NE Highway 99, Vancouver, WA 98665
Opening June 2021

Rachel Hanson will serve as manager of the Hazel Dell Branch. Hanson has eight years of experience in financial services, all of which have been with OnPoint. In her time at OnPoint, Hanson previously served as a Teller, Member Service Representative, Mortgage Relationship Officer and Branch Operations Supervisor. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping and boating.

OnPoint will donate $2,500 to Kasper Recovery Housing, an inclusive and sober living environment for men, women and families, opening in May 2021. Founded by James Kasper, the housing center will provide a safe place for people to live and recover from addiction and engage in recovery support services. A former addict himself, founder James Kasper is developing the housing center with his construction team by renovating the old Value Motel at 78th street in Hazel Dell. Once open, Kasper Recovery Housing will have 62 units, separated into men’s and women’s units, and residents will be required to pay rent and commit to sobriety. James Kasper also runs Ironhorse Recovery, which holds weekly Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings for the Hazel Dell and Southwest Washington community.
