I have personally renovated and sold many homes in addition to building a few custom homes from the ground up, so I know that the mortgage process can be stressful if you don’t have the right team by your side. My goal is to give you the support and education you need so you can feel confident and powerful while buying or refinancing your home.

My experience includes 17 years of lending and 30 years as a real estate investor. I’m a native Oregonian and a graduate of Oregon State University—I was born in Salem, grew up in Corvallis and moved to Bend in 1989. In my free time, you might find me gardening, reading a good book, spending time with my three daughters or cheering in the stands at a local sporting event.

Buying or refinancing a home is one of the biggest decisions you will make in your financial life. My goal is to make this process as comfortable and straightforward as possible by listening, answering all your questions, and communicating every step of the way. I strive to provide consistent communication to ensure members are informed of the progress we are making, knowing that every borrower situation is unique and deserves my attention throughout each step of the way.

On a personal level, I have financed the purchase of two homes and refinanced one. My first purchase and refinance were before my career in lending. I understand what it is like to have questions about the process and the importance of being able to make informed decisions. Working with great mortgage officers made all the difference in the confidence I had in my decisions. I strive to provide that confidence for every member I work with.

I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and Columbia Community Mental Health. I’m a life-long equestrian and love riding horses, hiking and traveling.

As a veteran mortgage lender, I’m constantly looking for new ways to help people. I understand and can speak Laotian and Thai. In my free time I enjoy running, skiing, fishing and volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Legacy Emanuel Hospital cancer unit.

Since graduating from OHSU with a Ph.D. in neuroscience, I’ve embarked on a career of connecting resources and capital to people in need. I enjoy spending my free time helping the homeless, road cycling, exploring the outdoors, listening to live music, and sampling the burgeoning natural wine industry throughout the Pacific Northwest.

My personal philosophy is that doing the right thing for the member is the right thing to do. It’s very satisfying to find the best solution for someone’s needs and see them successfully purchase or refinance a home. I have worked in banking for more than 12 years, so I can offer sound advice on understanding, maintaining and improving credit to help you prepare for your home purchase. I know that timing is everything in this process, so I’m committed to being available whenever you need me.

I am fluent in Vietnamese and enjoy traveling to Vietnam each year to visit family and friends. My wife runs her own beauty business, and we have two children. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, sports, and watching people sing. My favorite teams are the Ducks and the Blazers.
