The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.
This week’s employee spotlight is on Kyle, Teller Operations Supervisor at the Hazel Dell Branch. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Madeline and his daughter, Madison. He enjoys making food on the smoker, playing video games and traveling.
Here’s what Kyle had to share about his life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
I have been working in the financial industry since 2005 in different roles. I have worked with OnPoint since 2013, back when the Vancouver market had three branches. I have been lucky to work with several different people and teams to help this market grow.
What is your dream car?
1969 Corvette Stingray — I know someone who owned one, and ever since then I’ve been hooked. It doesn’t just look beautiful, it sounds beautiful.
If you have pets, what kinds do you have, and what are their names?
I have two dogs—Freya, a Great Dane/Pit Bull mix, and Mordy, a Maltese/Chihuahua mix—and one cat, Loki.
What is your favorite movie?
Star Wars. The original trilogy can’t be beat.
What is the best meal that you’ve ever had?
My fiancé is an amazing cook. Her Chicken and Dumplings are where it’s at.
Who was your most influential school teacher? Why?
Doug Williams. He was willing to postpone his own retirement to see me succeed. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. That’s why I’m so excited about initiatives like the OnPoint Prize, which recognize and celebrate teachers who go the extra mile, just like Doug did for me. Teachers like him make a real difference every day.
