The United Way of the Columbia-Willamette recently rolled out the red carpet to celebrate their 2014-15 fundraising campaign at their annual “Spirit of Generosity” (a.k.a. “Genie”) Awards. Not only did United Way announce that they raised a record-breaking $25.7 million ($3.3 million over the prior year’s total), but they also honored the donors, companies and volunteers that contributed to the campaign’s success.
OnPoint was honored to be part of this celebration and we are excited to share that we took home a Campaign Chair’s Award that recognized OnPoint for the investments we make in the greater community, our involvement with United Way and the staff members who managed our employee fundraising efforts.
Kudos to Debbie Shipman, Risk Specialist, and Amanda Theod, Purchasing Specialist (pictured above), who were instrumental in organizing OnPoint’s United Way fundraising campaign for 2014-15! As a result of their leadership, OnPoint employees generously raised over $50,000 through employee donations, corporate donations, and many fun fundraising efforts such as the purchase of jeans days, an online auction, selling Krispy Crème donuts and more. These dollars, leveraged by the United Way, went to work toward breaking the cycle of childhood poverty.
A big THANK YOU to our employees who have made a difference the lives of thousands of individuals throughout the counties we live in and serve, not only in 2014-15, but every year! October 19 marks the start of OnPoint’s 6th annual employee fundraising campaign benefitting United Way and we hope to match or surpass the past year’s campaign totals. Get ready, get set, go team OnPoint – we can do it!
