The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.
This week’s employee spotlight is on Nirvana Ceja, Branch Service Specialist at our Mill Plain Branch. My team has fueled my growth as a Branch Service Specialist and I feel very valued, not only as an employee but as a human. When I am not indoors being a homebody, I enjoy traveling with my large family and boyfriend, going on long walks with my dogs, and dancing.
Here’s what Nirvana had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
I have been with OnPoint for almost two years and started as a Teller. Before joining OnPoint, I was working at Target and getting my teaching degree. Amid Covid-19 and life getting back to normal, I found myself engrossed in a new career I would have never pictured myself in!
Where did you grow up? Where else have you lived?
I was born in Portland but moved to my family’s home state of Colima, Mexico, at age three. After spending a year there, we returned to Portland, where I spent most of my childhood, and now I call Vancouver my home!
What is something that you can’t live without?
Meatball Pho.
What was your all-time best Halloween costume?
I was a green crayon in 5th grade.
What is your favorite 90s jam?
“Say It Ain’t So” by Weezer.
What’s the one piece of advice you would give others about life?
I repeat the phrase “We are on a floating rock in space” daily to remind myself that not everything is that serious.
