This week’s employee spotlight is on Alexa, Information Technology Auditor at OnPoint. She’s an Army veteran and a proud mom of two amazing kids. For the past year and a half, Alexa has been working as an IT Auditor, a role that combines her passion for technology and security. She has a Bachelor’s in IT Management and a Master’s in Cybersecurity. When Alexa’s not working, she loves spending meaningful time with her family and taking peaceful walks to unwind.
Here’s what Alexa had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
I worked as an IT Project Coordinator for a Microsoft Managed Service Provider (MSP), where I coordinated and supported various IT projects involving Microsoft technologies. I enjoy working at OnPoint. The supportive and uplifting atmosphere and my amazing colleagues make it a great place to be. I’m grateful to be part of such a hardworking team and look forward to growing my career and making a lasting impact at the credit union.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
| I joined the military in March 2016 as a combat engineer paratrooper, just months after combat positions officially opened to women. As part of the first wave of female soldiers stepping into these demanding roles, I helped pave the way for future women in combat. This experience profoundly shaped my leadership, resilience, and commitment.
If you have pets, what kinds and what are their names? |
I have two dogs: a nine-year-old black Lab/Collie mix named Oscar and a one-year-old Golden Retriever named Archie.
Which sports teams do you root for?
LA Dodgers.
Where did you grow up? Where else have you lived?
I grew up in Vancouver, WA. Through the military, I’ve lived/stayed for an extended period in Missouri, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and Alaska.
