The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees and celebrates the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.
This week’s employee spotlight is on Erica Fitzgerald, Teller Operations Supervisor at the Hollywood Branch. Erica is obsessed with the outdoors. Whether hitting the beach for rock hunting or casting a line for a trophy fish, she enjoys being out in nature with her partner and two adventurous pups. When she’s not out exploring, she’s somewhere near the water, soaking up the sun or planning her next adventure.
Here’s what Erica had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
Before joining OnPoint, I worked as a Seafood Manager at a local small-chain grocery store, and before that, I was the General Manager of a restaurant in the airport. COVID was pivotal in my career and what my future looked like. After a lot of thought and encouragement from current OnPoint teammates, I decided to take the plunge and join the team as a Teller. I was overwhelmed with the initial welcoming, onboarding, and training at OnPoint, but I became a Sr. Teller in no time and am now a Teller Operations Supervisor. I appreciate that my manager always supports my desire to do more, allowing me to learn about lending and preparing me for future promotions.
Since day one, OnPoint has impressed me due to how open the new hire orientation felt. During the orientation, I remember asking how OnPoint will keep to its core values as the credit union rapidly grows. Our CEO, Rob Stuart, shared that this is a primary concern and focus. In my short time at OnPoint, I have witnessed OnPoint invest heavily in expanding our training team and professional opportunities, which all staff can access.

If you have pets, what kinds and what are their names?
I have the best two pups! Millie is a Toy Fox Terrier and will be turning 16 this year. Her favorite thing to do is play in the sand and sun bath. Sadie is a rescue and will be turning three this year.
What’s your favorite myth, legend, or fairy tale?
My favorite myth is the lost city of Atlantis. It has always fascinated me how there are so many different theories, and my favorite is a city that thrives underwater.
What is your favorite travel spot?
My favorite travel spot is a small beach where you have to hike down a winding set of stairs, and then it opens to a beautiful beach with tons of rocks.
What is the coolest thing you are working on right now?
I am working on redesigning a fishing bag and launching a fishing gear vending machine line called Struggle Bus Fishing. For the times you caught a tree or broke off and didn’t realize you had lost the last of your gear.
