Employee Spotlight with Sam Ikebe

This week’s employee spotlight is on Sam Ikebe, Member Relationship Officer at the Vancouver Waterfront Branch. Originally from Vancouver, WA, Sam has a love for fashion, animals, and spending quality time with her husband and their two dogs—Purdy, a Golden Retriever, and Toby, a Wirehaired Pointer Griffon and German Shepherd mix. Sam enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and relaxing on the back patio with family and friends.

Here’s what Sam had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:

What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?

Before joining OnPoint, I spent nearly 10 years managing the Vancouver Mall location for Buckle. It’s been a privilege to work with such an incredible team at OnPoint who continuously support my growth. I’m truly grateful to be in this role and surrounded by such caring individuals.

Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love the fall fashion, layers, and the changing colors of the leaves.

Do you have a favorite board or card game?

Growing up, my favorite board game was Aggravation. What’s funny is I didn’t realize until I was a young adult that my mom used to cheat! It brings back a lot of great memories.

Where is your favorite place in the world?

There’s no place like home—home will always be my favorite place in the world.

How would you describe your team in one word?

If I had to choose one word to describe my team here at OnPoint, it would be “family.”
