The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.
This week’s employee spotlight is on Stephany Regan, who started as a Teller at the 205 Place Branch in the midst of Covid and is now an Indirect Lending Officer. Stephany loves hiking, reading, traveling, and hanging out with her puggle, Lola. She is passionate about volunteering and community involvement through local nonprofits.
Here’s what Stephany had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
Before joining OnPoint, I was a college student working at Ulta Beauty. I graduated from Clark College in Vancouver, WA, with my Associate’s degree. I hope to return to school and finish my Bachelor’s degree. I want to major in communications or business administration.
Fun fact, Amy Reeves is how I first got connected with OnPoint. She came into the Ulta Beauty where I worked, and I assisted her. We had a great interaction, and I told her I wanted to join a credit union as a member. She gave me her contact information, and I went into the Vancouver Waterfront Branch and opened an account. Fast forward a few months later, I was ready to transition to a new job, and I thought of Amy and OnPoint!
What are you passionate about?
Volunteering. I am on the community advisory committee at Fourth Plain Forward in Vancouver, WA. I joined about a year ago as a local who wanted to see and be a part of the changes being made to my area. I also enjoy volunteering for Portland Workforce Alliance (PWA) and Financial Beginnings of OR & WA.
What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?
Coke Zero or Diet Coke.
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
The Witcher. In the series, the witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. I would 100% recommend watching. Plus, it has Henry Cavill in it, and I love him.
What is your favorite travel spot?
Italy or Guatemala. I visited Rome on a solo trip during the summer of 2017. The food and architecture of the city exceeded my expectations. I visited San Vicente Buenabaj, Guatemala, to volunteer with an organization called “Courts For Kids.” We went to a small town of about 500 people and built sport courts at their only school to help give resources and access to important team activities and sports to aid their physical health.
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
I am prioritizing taking care of my mental and physical health.
