The horrific death of George Floyd has sparked civil unrest across the nation and in our own backyard. We are experiencing pain, fear and anger as we try to process this unspeakable tragedy. As a community credit union, OnPoint firmly and explicitly condemns racism in every form.
Our purpose is to build strong communities, and we are dedicated to the credit union foundational ideal of “people helping people.” We value inclusivity, which means standing up for those who have been unjustly targeted today and those at risk of being oppressed tomorrow.
The strength of our community will keep pushing for what’s right, and OnPoint will be part of this important movement. There is no easy solution to this deep-rooted injustice, but we are committed to the journey and to educating ourselves so we all can do our part.
As an immediate next step, OnPoint is supporting organizations fighting for equal rights for our Black community. This week, we are starting by donating to the following organizations and encourage you to consider supporting them as well. We will also meet with their representatives to learn more about how OnPoint can be a better partner.
Thank you for being a part of the OnPoint family as we work to be better and build toward a more just community for everyone.
Sincerely,
Rob Stuart – President, CEO
