The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.
This week’s employee spotlight is on Veronica Keller, a Member Service Representative at the Coburg Road Branch. Veronica is an easygoing, plant-loving, animal-snuggling person who loves connecting with people and eating pasta.
Here’s what Veronica had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:
What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?
Before OnPoint, I was a Midwestern girl living on the East Coast, dreaming of the Pacific Northwest. I began my career at OnPoint as a Teller, and 10 months later, I became a Senior Teller. After eight months, I was promoted to MSR. The support and kindness from my managers have been a life-changing experience. I was brave enough to go after my promotions with them seeing my potential and believing in me. They’ve been there for me through many professional and personal changes, and I’m so grateful for that.
What was your childhood nickname?
I’ve had many nicknames in my life, including V, Red, Twisted Sister, Vern, Vernon, Burt, and V-Killa.
If you have pets, what kinds and what are their names?
Anyone who comes to my house is given a warning because my house is full of pets. I have a 10-year-old Torti colored cat named Cocoa, a nine-year-old Chihuahua named Gus, a six-year-old Corgi named Geoffrey, a four-year-old sphinx point cat named Jinora, a three-year-old German shepherd mix named Rosie, and a 10-month-old husky mix named Potato Wedge—Tato for short. If I lived somewhere with land, I’d love to have more farm pets like goats and chickens.
What is your favorite book?
I read a lot when I was in school and have recently been getting back into the groove of reading. Right now, my heart and soul are connected to the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. My favorite book in the series is the third one, A Court of Wings and Ruin, but the whole series is magical.
What was the best concert you’ve ever attended?
It hasn’t happened yet—I’m going to Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert in December 2024.
How would you describe your team in one word?
Shenanigans.
