20% of children in the Portland metro regions are currently living in poverty*. United Way of the Columbia Willamette works with select nonprofits in our region to connect and serve our communities. They are investing in the children of our region to help keep them out of poverty and free to reach their full potential. All of the donations made to United Way of the Columbia Willamette go toward investing in kids, families and communities.
Since 2006, OnPoint employees have been contributing to the cause of breaking the cycle of poverty, raising over $338,000 in our annual workplace giving campaign. This year we exceeded our goal and raised $50,750 for United Way and local nonprofits.
OnPoint employees participated in the campaign via donations/pledges and fundraisers (including jeans days, employee raffles and candy grams). Some OnPoint employees also donated their time during the Day of Caring: Store to Door event supporting seniors and those with disabilities who can no longer make it to the grocery store.
