Employee Spotlight with Cristin Hamon

Cristin Hamon employee spotlight desertThe OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.

This week’s employee spotlight is on Cristin Hamon, Branch Service Specialist at the Bend Downton Branch. Family, friends, and animals are the most important things in her life, and she tries her best to live in the moment and make sure that loved ones know how important they are.

Here’s what Cristin had to share about her life and time at OnPoint:

What were you doing before joining OnPoint or taking on your current role?

Prior to starting my career with OnPoint, I had taken some time off from work at a property management company to be home with my two kids and homeschool them. Before that, I had worked in banking for about 12 years. My goal in my current role is to do my best to provide support to our whole team, expand my knowledge of operations and procedures, and build a better foundation for growth.

What are you passionate about?

I am incredibly passionate about animals! I grew up always having pets, from rats, cats, dogs, horses, snakes, iguanas, birds, etc., the list goes on! I started training animals when I was young and began a career training and handling animals for movies when I got out of high school, which I loved. Still, while doing it, I realized that my passion lies in rescue and rehabilitation. We need to be their voice and advocate for them. I would love to have my own rescue one day.

That is a tough one to decide. I love Halloween! My two favorite costumes have been my Chuck Norris costume and my Peter Pan’s Shadow costume. My sister dressed as Peter Pan, and I was her shadow the whole night.

What is your favorite book?

My favorite stand-alone book is “Verity” by Colleen Hoover, and my favorite series is “From Blood and Ash” by Jennifer Armentrout.

What’s the most incredible experience you’ve ever had?

My husband and I spent about eight months in 2022 traveling the country in our RV with our two kids and two dogs. We visited 33 states, several national parks, and historical sights and made many incredible memories! Visiting all 50 states has been on my bucket list for a long time, so being able to do that with my family made it even more special.

Do you volunteer anywhere?

My kids and I volunteer for a local animal rescue, Cascade Canine Rescue East and West/CCREW. We help take the dogs out for walks and socialization and also help handle adoption events for the adoptable dogs and cats. We’ve been volunteering for them for almost two years now.
