This week’s employee spotlight is Michael Savory, Branch Manager at our new Keizer Branch. Michael started at OnPoint in 2008 and is thrilled to join the vibrant, historical and beautiful community of Keizer.
Here is what Michael had to share about his life and experiences at OnPoint:
Tell us a little about yourself.
OnPoint means a lot to me. I got my first auto loan with OnPoint, my first mortgage with OnPoint and met my wife of 10 years at OnPoint. I have worked for the organization for 12 years as a Member Relationship Officer, Branch Operations Supervisor, Assistant Branch Manager and now, a Branch Manager. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
What is your favorite season?
Duck Football season.
What are 3 things still left on your bucket list?
- Renew my wedding vows in the Maldives.
- Attend a World Series game.
- Shoot an even par for a round of golf.
What were you doing before taking on your current role?
Prior to opening the Keizer Branch, I spent five years as the Assistant Branch Manager at our Beaverton Branch. Like the Beaverton team, my new Keizer team is outstanding. With so many people either new to their position or new to banking, it’s been really amazing and encouraging to see everyone embrace the opportunity to open a new branch in a new market.
What was the best concert you’ve ever attended?
I saw The Dropkick Murphy’s in the very small basement of a Chinese restaurant.
How do you maintain work/life balance?
Over the years, I have learned that my time away is just that, time away. Enjoy and embrace every minute of what makes you happy.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
I feel that there is a Ron Swanson quote for every situation.
