The OnPoint spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees and takes a closer look at the drive and personality of individuals on the OnPoint team. It is one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint. This week’s employee spotlight is Jessica Ferranti, Member Relationship Officer at our new Vancouver Waterfront Branch.
Jessica joined the OnPoint team in 2016 and is excited to help our Southwest Washington members in the new bustling urban residential and business hub located at the Vancouver Waterfront. Here is what she had to share about her life and experiences at OnPoint:
Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born in Williamsburg, VA, but raised in Southern California. My husband Jake, who also works for OnPoint, and I moved to Vancouver, WA, in 2005.
What were you doing before joining OnPoint?
Before OnPoint, I was working as a restaurant manager for a local café in Ridgefield, WA. I started as a Member Service Representative at our Salmon Creek Branch in June of 2016 and moved to the Vancouver Waterfront Branch in November when the branch opened.
What is your favorite Jelly Belly flavor?
I LOVE buttered popcorn jelly beans! Thankfully, my family does not, so more for me!
What is the “nerdiest” thing that you do in your spare time?
I love watching old TV show marathons! My family and I have a holiday tradition each Thanksgiving and Fourth of July where we watch “Twilight Zone” marathons. The old black and white ones with Rod Serling are so great and it feels like traveling back in time.
What’s your favorite myth, legend or fairy tale?
The Christmas fairy tale “The Gift of the Magi.” It is a short story about a young husband and wife and how they handle the challenges of getting each other Christmas presents with little to no money. Without spoiling it, it is a very touching story and shows the sacrifice of true love.
What is your favorite travel spot?
The Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, WA. My husband and I are HUGE “Twin Peaks” fans and love to celebrate our wedding anniversary where the original show was filmed. It is breathtaking and right atop the falls, which makes for the perfect romantic destination.
How would you describe your team in one word?
Perfect, not because we are perfect people, but because of what we all bring to the table. Collectively, we make the perfect OnPoint team, and I could not be more proud to be a part of the Vancouver Waterfront team! OnPoint has truly changed my life in a multitude of ways and I am better because of it. I am incredibly grateful to work with such wonderful people.
